Programs    Morning Programs 9:00 - 11:30 am    Three-year-olds: Tuesday & Thursday mornings     Children must turn 3 by December 31.                   “I am impressed with our [3 year old] daughter’s handwriting and               the writing skills she has learned at Avon Nursery School.” *    Four-year-olds: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays    Children must turn 4 by December 31.    Lunch Bunch (Optional)     Lunch Bunch is offered 5 days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children taking     morning classes may stay an hour later, and children taking afternoon classes may     come an hour earlier. Please refer to our FAQs page for further information     about our Lunch Bunch option.    Afternoon Programs 12:30 - 3:00 pm      Afternoon Pre-K: Monday through Friday     The Pre-Kindergarten program is for 4 and 5 year old children. Children must be age 4     by September 1 and have had one year of preschool experience to enroll. The goal of the     program will be to offer an opportunity to those children who will not be going into     kindergarten in the fall to develop skills in a creative and developmentally appropriate     environment. We will be including the Handwriting without Tears Program as a part     of the Pre-K curriculum. Registration is limited.                 “Avon Nursery School’s writing program is great. Our son asks all the time,                 ‘How do I spell it?’ and writes words out frequently.” *     Afternoon Kindergarten Enrichment: Monday through Friday     The Afternoon Kindergarten Enrichment Program is for children attending morning     kindergarten. It is a fun and nurturing Kindergarten extension program. While it will     also include the Handwriting without Tears Program, the curriculum will go beyond     the Pre-K curriculum. Kindergarteners will be gathered into their own small groups     so that they may explore and create exciting theme-based projects and activities.     Basic skills will be reinforced through themes such as: Making Treasure Maps,     Chef’s Club, Yoga, Endangered Animals, Musical Moments, World Habitats,     Fine Arts, Famous Americans, Drumming, Poetry Pals, Adopting a Whale and     Weather Watchers. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come,     first-serve basis. Special benefit for morning Kindergarten students who attend     Roaring Brook or Pine Grove in Avon: A mini-bus will pick up children at school     and transport them directly to Avon Nursery School!                 “Avon Nursery School is the first school our son enjoyed going to . . .                  His handwriting has dramatically improved.
